Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin Outlines Plans for Revamped Olimpiyskiy Multifunctional Complex

The multifunctional complex “Olimpiyskiy”, following reconstruction, will integrate sports, cultural, and leisure facilities within a single project. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin shared these details in an interview with the Moscow 24 TV channel.

He emphasized that the reconstruction of Olimpiyskiy represents one of the city's most extensive and technologically challenging projects, with a total construction volume of nearly one million square meters.

The updated complex will feature modern concert halls, a multi-screen cinema, and relaxation areas, while placing primary emphasis on its sports function. It will include infrastructure for over 40 sports, such as two pools for international and national competitions with seating for 4,000 spectators.
